A perfect film.
If 'bollywood' had made it, it might have run into political censor trouble..
bappaditya is the true inheritor of Riwik Ghatak. Like late Ghatak, He has his own idiom which is *not* ritwik's nor anyone else's though I feel he has assimilated Luis Bunual - and others - in his own way. [He doesnt make surrealistic cinema - those were differnt times - maybe he is himself not conscious of Bunuel nfluence..]I have a feeling that 20 years for now, he will be a cult figure for *all* films he has released until now ie 2012 dec. [how long did ghatak's 'ajantrik' run on release? 3 days, in Purna cinema, bhawanipore!
Rimjhim Gupta is imprssive as usual.
Prosenjit: brilliant! [also in autograph, khela, moner manush, ...]what a sha me he wasted/hid his talent for 2 decades. The lure of money and power... poison! Better late then never... it is much more difficult for it to sink in that prosenjit in serious cinema is the same person as prosenjit in 'commercial' cinema... much more difficult than say Nicole Kidman, smita patil, or Paoli Dam. It is as if he is two people!
