My Rating

  • Cool performances with Ok Product!

Housefull rating: 4 out of 10(Mitesh Shah wrote on 05 May 2010)

Akshay Kumar is back in terrific form, evoking huge laughter with his poker faced humour. Actually he never laughs in the film, yet manages to make you laugh with his `loser' act. He was in super form; the actor perfects the act of a loser with a restrained performance.

Deshmukh is good and shares good chemistry with Akshay. On the whole, Ritesh Deshmukh is another great comic talent who often gets his timing right.

Arjun Rampal suits the part, looks dapper and was also wooden. He also gets rock star treatment and he delights.

Boman Irani goes over the top as usual. He was in top form (don't miss his Sholay dialogues in Gujarati). Boman always gets his comic timing right as usual.

Making a comeback on screen after a long gap, Randhir Kapoor playing Jiah’s Sindhi dad doesn’t get much scope.

Chunky Pandey is plain irritating playing Akhiri Pasta an Italian hotelier. His fake Italiano accent grates on your nerves. But was also funny at times specially when he says after the situation as “Joking!!!”

The girls have nothing much to show except skin.

Deepika looks sizzling hot. She looks great in bikini with those long legs and awesomely sexy tummy. Frankly she hasn't looked more glamorous ever before.

Lara manages to score over her in the comedy department also she was good in some funny scenes. But her clothes seem to be getting shorter with each film. Good going Lara!

Jiah tries hard and ends up being just about passable. She has just one song and a couple of lines to mouth. But she was the sexiest of the lot in that particular song. Lucky Akshay, as always!

Lilette Dubey was a typecast as begum.

On the whole, Riteish and Akshay share an explosive chemistry which is much more than we can say about Akshay and Deepika as sursuri. And last but not least. The film is high on glamour quotient what with three attractive bodied heroines (Deepika, Lara and Jiah) parading in skimpy outfits most of the time.

    2 / 5
