How-useful, to come out of IPL hang over :)

Housefull is exactly what Director cum funny man Sajid Khan does best. Slapstick, sprinkled with double meaning, cheap-but-still-we-laugh comedy all around. Yes, it makes you laugh. Of course you shouldn’t try to find intelligence and cinematic delicacies. It punches the run of the mill gay jokes, Gujju humors to pep up the experience. Music is a real let down, with exception of the track – Mika’s ‘Apni Toh Jaise Taise’. Shankar-Ehsaan-loy’s scores are undoubtedly the worst of their career so far.

Funny thing is that Akshay, perhaps plagued with his series of ... » read more

    Fully Entertaining!

Ah! Finally a real entertainer to tickle your funny bone in this blistering heat! Housefull is a sight for sore eyes after the trash that Bollywood's been spinning out this last couple of IPL-laden weeks. Director Sajid Khan's second film is sure to have the theatres packed again with it's star studded appeal, picturesque locales and hilarious dialogues. Akshay Kumar, Ritesh Deshmukh, Arjun Rampal, Lara Dutta, Deepika Padukone, Jiah Khan, Randhir Kapoor, Boman Irani and Little Dubey star in this comic caper which gives you several occasions ... » read more

First thing first. Don’t get carried away by the long list of bollywood filmmakers to whom Sajid Khan pays tribute to, in the first frame of the film. The list is as diversified as Prakash Mehra, Manmohan Desai, Narinder Bedi, Ravi Tandon and Hrishikesh Mukherjee to the likes of K Raghvendra Rao and K Bapaiah, but sadly you won’t find glimpses of the work done by any of these maestros in Sajid’s latest offering. So what does Sajid actually delivers?

Thanks to IPL matches we movie lovers had to suffer through dozens of bad films. Thus were waiting for an out and out entertainer with good star cast.'Housefull' breaks the fast [of bad films] as it contains big star cast and a big banner. But is this enough to get the box office see the housefull boards which seemed be forgotten in some store room and not used for a long long time. Let’s find out.

'housefull' is story of a jinxed looser aarush [akshay kumar] who looses his love [mallaika arora] too, due to his ill luck.he decides to meet his old buddy bob [ritesh ... » read more

    Copy fool!!!

Housefull rating: 5 out of 10

After being copying from one very famous English film, sorry, after being inspired from one Hollywood film, Sajid Khan came up with another inspiring one to us after Hey Baby! Though no doubt Hey Bay was a good movie to watch, but still it’s not an original one, but that can be neglected in that film but not in this film. Although I am not sure that the entire film is being copied or inspired but almost 75% of the scenes in this film were being copied from many other Hollywood films. Anyways, it all depends on how you present it, whether it is being copied, inspired or ... » read more

Is this house is really full ??

Much was expected from Sajid Khan who has been literally claiming from rooftops for weeks now that he has made the year’s biggest blockbuster. Though he has not entirely let us down, you do wish he could have opted for a more innovative plot.

Sajid could also have done better with a cast as big this. But with no meat in the script, this is as far as he could have gone. To be honest, I'm disappointed by this show. I expected something better. Maybe, Sajid will come with something original next time around.

I guess he also seems to have taken the slap ... » read more

    Cool performances with Ok Product!

Akshay Kumar is back in terrific form, evoking huge laughter with his poker faced humour. Actually he never laughs in the film, yet manages to make you laugh with his `loser' act. He was in super form; the actor perfects the act of a loser with a restrained performance.

Deshmukh is good and shares good chemistry with Akshay. On the whole, Ritesh Deshmukh is another great comic talent who often gets his timing right.

Arjun Rampal suits the part, looks dapper and was also wooden. He also gets rock star treatment and he delights.

    Not a panauti @ ALL

    By Vinayak Chandra(02 May 2010)

Sajid Khan always stands for wholesome entertainment. Be it on his TV shows, the events he host or his debut movie ‘Heyy Babyy’, it all bears a testimony to this fact. ‘Housefull’ too never promised anything other than that. But there are several questions out of curiosity for of them being as Sajid certainly seemed hell confident about it and the other being whether Akshay Kumar can finally settle with a successful movie after a string of failures last year.

Neither is the script any imaginative or original. The plot rolls around the old identity ... » read more

in one sentence superb. Sajjid really has a taste for comedy. It is ourely a timepass movie. you have to watch the film beacuse at teh end of it you shall come out of the theaters with a smile on your face. This is a story of Aarush (Akshay Kumar) who thinks ofhimself as a loser. Akshay goes to london to meet his friend Ritesh and his wife lara dutta who search a bride in teh form of jiah khan who is and daughter of a rich man.tHEY BOTH GET MARRIED and now deepika enters and the fun starts., and in this fun and mistaken identities, confusion Arjun Rampal and Boman Iranani ... » read more

Before I tell you anything else, let me dwell on a certain lady who goes by the name of Deepika Padukone. Sigh! I’m not exaggerating one tiny bit when I say that Housefull is watchable only and only for Deepika. If you thought she looked like an angel in Karthik Calling Karthik (I did), you’ll be blown away by her awesomeness in Housefull. We all know how ravishing Lara Dutta looks, now imagine how mind-blowing Deepika would be looking if she manages to outshine Lara, which mind you is not everyone’s cup of tea, no sir. I could go on and on about Deepika, but I’ll reserve ... » read more
