How to get impressed by ur dragon...

How To Train Your Dragon rating: 8 out of 10

"What a film!" is the first thing that u say when the end credits start rolling on the screen...and i must say (this might hurt a few sentiments though) that the 3D rendition of this is far better than Avatar...from when the film opens u actually start shifting in ur seats to avoid objects that hurl itself from the screen to ur face...right from fireballs to tree trunks to what not!!! After quite sometime a story (thats pretty normal) has been told with so much visual treat and so much speed that u actually feel whether the interval was really reqd or not. A "must watch" ... » read more

The story line of How to Train Your Dragon is a fairly standard one, exploring themes that are so familiar in the universe for all ages cinema that hardly require any elaborations. The hero, a young Viking (Hiccup), is a misfit adolescent who proves his mettle, pleases his hard-to-please father (Gerard Butler) and saves the world while learning important lessons and rattling off some wisecracks. Supporting characters include a spitfire love interest (America Ferrera), a gaggle of goofy friends, a crusty old mentor (Craig Ferguson) and a cute cat eyed dragon named ‘Toothless’

It was a good 2 hour training for me

HTTYD was a brief training session for the Dragons, Hiccup and his friends, his father and other Vikings and of course Me. Storyline is simple. A young Viking, Hiccup, wants to join his town's fight against the dragons that continually raid their town. However, his father and viking leader Stoik, will not allow his small, inventive son to do so. Regardless, Hiccup ventures out into battle and downs a mysterious Night Fury dragon with his invention, but can't kill it. Instead, Hiccup and the dragon, whom he dubs Toothless, begin a friendship that would open up both their ... » read more

An animated feast for the eyes is a brilliant description for this film. From the jaw-dropping visuals beautifully rendered in 3D, to the flawless animation of the characters and dragons, this was one film that didn't disappoint.
Our protagonist is Hiccup, a boy Viking who doesn't possess much in common with his dragon slaying dad. However, when he finds a new friend in Toothless, the most feared dragon of its species, he learns that dragons are not the fearful creatures he was brought up to believe.
What I enjoyed the most was the relationship between Hiccup ... » read more

A Thrilling Saga With Exhilarating Animations

I’ve never been a big fan of animated movies. I grew out of cartoons a long time ago and I’ve played very few video, computer or console games. As a result, the animated world isn't something that interests me a lot. But I watched How To Train Your Dragon and I was blown away. There might be films that are superiorly animated then this one, but it’s probably the finest one I’ve ever seen.

How To Train Your Dragon is based on book of the same title. Something like ‘The Dragon Trainer’ or even ‘The Dragon Tamer’ would have been more apt for the movie, but whatever. ... » read more
