‘Hriday Lekho Naam’ is a film which is exceptional for one such reason. Here the producer of the film is a bigger star of the film than the hero and heroine of the film. The film is no exception and is just another film, it is just that exception which makes the film stand out.
The film is about Priya and Pritam who are neighbours. Pritam spends his time idling away with friends after his exams are over. Pooja initially hates the sight of Pritam after she runs into him a couple of times, but later on she starts liking him. She also seeks Pritam’s help as her father had fixed her marriage with his friend’s son a long time back which she doesn’t like. After they become close, they elope but Pooja’s evil uncle manages to track them down. Pritam is beaten black and blue and left for dead. Pooja is taken away, but she is on the verge of dying and it is left for Pritam to make her live again.
As mentioned earlier, the star of the film is the producer Goutam Saha. He also plays a character called Goutam in the film, someone who is larger than life and manages to draw laughs from the audience by saying the dialogues in his particular way or with his particular way of acting . He is a complete non actor and there is nothing promising about the hero Trambak or the heroine Arpita though she has appeared in several films before. How Pritam manages to remain alive even after being beaten black and blue is another question. Monica Bedi’s item song does nothing to the film and even if wasn’t there, it wouldn’t have made a difference. Along with the hero and heroine, the posters feature Monica Bedi and Goutam Bedi as if they are the biggest things about the film. Actually who knows, maybe they are. The film has many playback singers and notable among them are Amit Kumar and Sumit Kumar.
