Hrishita Bhatt was born on 10th May, 1981, in Mumbai. As a child she dreamed of becoming a pilot, but life had other plans for her. She graduated from the Trinity College of London and took dancing lessons from the well known choreographer Shiamak Davar. Soon she was getting modeling assignments. Among these the most noted was the Liril campaign.

Hrishita, soon after, featured in the Aryans' video, 'Aankhon Mein Tera Hi Chehra' which added to her popularity. She was thereafter offered Shararat (2002), opposite Abhishek Bachchan. She also bagged a role in the historical drama Asoka (2001) offered by Shahrukh Khan himself, but since Asoka was completed and released first, it became her debut movie.

Hrishita has appeared in Dil Vil Pyar Vyar (2002), Haasil (2003), Out of Control (2003), Charas: A Joint Operation (2004), Ab Tak Chhappan (2004), Kisna: The Warrior Poet (2005), Jigyaasa (2006), Jawani Diwani: A Youthful Joyride (2006) and Ankahee (2006). She also starred in a Kannada-language movie and a Bengali-language movie with Raju Mukherjee. During this time, she changed the spelling of her name to Hrishitaa.

She co-starred with many well-known Indian stars such as Abhishek Bachchan, Ritesh Deshmukh, Emraan Hashmi, Vivek Oberoi, Jimmy Shergill, Shahrukh Khan, and Madhavan, among others. In 2007, she was cast in a movie called "Friends Forever," opposite Ashmit Patel.

She was recently seen in the movie Don Muthuswami, featuring Mithun Chakraborty, which was not successful at the box office.
