The astonishing director who presented some masterpieces such as Memento, The Prestige, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight etc. has astonished us again with this new age sci-fiction thriller Inception.
Christopher Nolan really has taken everything he's learned from making mature adult blockbusters and utilized it here with maximum effect. To say its thinking man's blockbuster is understating things but, unlike the Michael Bay's of this world, he does not feel the need to treat his audience like kids. He is hell of an intelligent director and challenges the viewers to the extremes. The ending is the biggest proof of that where Nolan incepts the idea that it’s still a dream in our minds and we are yet to figure if it was our own idea and whether it's true. Your eyes literally sticks to the screen when the top spins and when it slows down a little, the screen goes blank and you can only stare at it in his amazement.
Mr. Nolan is far too clever, and he is too respectful of his audience and their intelligence. His craftsmanship and imagination in a world filled with generic, seen-it-all-before films isn't only commendable; it is awe-inspiring. Inception is easily the best film of the year so far, and it will be hard to top. It deserves multiple Oscar nominations in both the technical categories and the big ones such as Best Picture and Best Director.
Watch it at any cost!
