Ishaqzaade rating: 0 out of 10(Pratibha Yadav wrote on 08 May 2012)

‘Ishaqzaade’ deals with the story of two lovers. They are fiery blooded. One is unpredictable while the other is ferocious. They hate each other but eventually love grows between them. Will they be able to live happily? Will their love succumb to the harsh circumstances?

The story is set in the daunting political confines of rural India. It’s a semi violent love story directed by Habib Faisal. Boney Kapoor’s son Arjun Kapoor is making his debut through this film. It also stars Parineeti Chopra. The movie is buzzing around in B town due to its great trailer and good music album. So let’s have a look at the trailer, music album and box office expectation of the movie.

Trailer : I think there are no words to describe the trailer of the film. It has what not! Just name it and it has it! Romance, chemistry, violence, music, dialogues, a bit of humor everything is well blended in the trailer. If the trailer of the movie is just the beginning, then this film has a long way to go. Hope it doesn’t disappoint us! And yes don’t forget to notice the famous and legendary Yezdi motor bikes (shown in the trailer) in the movie. The movie marks the revival of these bikes after a long time, in cinema world.

Music: As far as the music album of ‘Ishaqzaade’ is concerned, it would not be wrong to say, that it’s quite different from the nature of the movie. Yes! The movie seems to be violent and revengeful but the songs are soothing and entertaining. The album has great songs and this may enhance the interest of the audience in the movie.

The album starts with 'Hua Chokra Jawan Re'. The song is a good dance number. It has a raw appeal to it. The sound of breaking glass in the background and charpai gives a real look to the song. Sunidhi Chauhan and Vishal Dadlani do a great job and lift the song high gradually. It’s on the lines of Beedi Jalai le types but its just ok. It may stay for some time because of its naughty lyrics.

‘Main Pareshan, Pareshan, Pareshan’: This song catches your attention from the first line itself. The lyrics are poetic and impressive. The music is surely rejuvenating. It stands out as it’s not the typical loud song, which is just made to groove. This song is soft, simple and still manages to impress the listener. Shalmali Kholgade gives her fresh voice to the song. Combination of guitars, violin and harmonium in the background only add to the beauty of the song. The song has a depth and truly highlights the pain. One can easily relate to it. The chemistry between Arjun and Parineeti in the song is worth watching. It’s simply outstanding. It will stay for long. Remix version is equally good.

Jhalla wallah: The song is sung on the lines of mujra and qawaalli. The lyrics have the flavor of Uttar Pradesh style. Its funny and one can easily develop a liking for it. Shreya Ghoshal does a good job on this. The music is good and can make you groove to its tunes.

Aafaton Ke Parinde: If you have not heard it yet then believe me it’s very energetic and enthusiastic song. Hope the movie is as energetic as this. The song has a passion to it. The energy of the song carries you to a different world. It has fun, it has feelings of revenge and it has brutality as well. It’s a violent track overall. But such romantic violence is likeable. Isn’t it? It’s sung by Divya Kumar and Suraj Jagan.

Hallaalon Main Haraamon Main Jo Milte The Hazaaron Main: It is the line that makes you sit and listen to the whole song. It’s an unusual song and is hardly musical (unlike others) but it truly depicts the story of the movie. Well worked upon.

Ishaqzaade: The title song of the movie starts with poetry. ‘Ishaqzaade Hain Jitney Fasaanon Mein, Milte Hai Kaha Ab Jahaano Mein’... This line itself is enough to turn you back and give your attention to the song. If you listen to it patiently...It has a deep feeling which will surely seep through your heart. The lyrics by Amit Trivedi are awesome. Music is soothing and energetic at the same time. Javed Ali and Shreya Ghoshal enrich the song with their voices. ’Dil Pe Job Bhii Bair Beeta, Teri Khair Pe Waar Diya, Jal Jala Kar Job Hi Jeeta, Tere Pyaar Pe Har Diya Diya….’, Isn’t the lyrics amazing? Well! The song will be mostly liked by those who prefer simple music.

Box office future of the movie seems to be good. The music album and the trailer guarantee a good opening to the film. Parineeti has already become the eye candy of many by giving an outstanding performance in ‘Ladies vs Ricky Bahl’ and Arjun is also getting good responses. If we go by the buzz, the lead pair has already made a fan base for themselves, and this may benefit the movie and its box office collections as well.

There are movies which come up with good music album but hardly do well. But as far as ‘Ishaqzaade’ is concerned, it’s different. It has a captivating effect, which definitely makes us to think at least once about the movie. Well we have lot of hopes with the movie and the actors. Hope the movie, turns out to be like its music album. Hope the newcomers of today Arjun and Parineeti (one film old) transform into stars of tomorrow. Till then let’s wait and watch!
