  • When Physics portrays the Chemistry of Love !!

Jab Tak Hai Jaan rating: 0 out of 10(Anonymous wrote on 14 Nov 2012)

PROLOGUE: From my school days, I was a big fan of Shahrukh Khan + Also by nature, am pretty much emotional type = So, this can be a biased review...Was eagerly waiting for this film, right after watching the captivating promo & now finally, the wait is over..Right after selling the movie tickets to us, the British man at the ticket counter gladly announced "Jab Tak Hai Jaan...All Tickets SOLD OUT" (off course with his weird pronunciation in the 'Hindi' part of this sentence)

MOVIE: The story is all about the agony-ecstasy/drama-reality/ trust/distrust moving around the central star called 'love'...When Samar Anand's (Played by Shahrukh Khan) love story with Meera (Played by Katrina Kaif) came to an end, he returned to India & became Bomb Disposal Expert...There he met Akira (played by Anushka Sharma) & the rest of the story redefines love in several ways, though sometimes through an unconvincing twist...Shahrukh Khan delivered a brilliant performance, followed by Anushka, who also superbly acted in her part...Katrina did justice to her role...Rishi Kapoor & Neetu Singh were fabulous in their cameo appearance...

IN THE LIGHT OF PHYSICS : On a lighter note, the message of the story can be described with 'Newton's Laws of Motion', which almost all of us read in school level physics...Here is the explanation !!

First Law: "If an object experiences no net force, then its velocity is constant: the object is either at rest (if its velocity is zero), or it moves in a straight line with constant speed"....In the movie, its shown that, Samar's life (object) almost came to a standstill (at rest), after his break-up with Meera...Afterwards, when Akira (net force) rekindled the lost love in Samar's heart through some incidents, he again started to relive (moving in a straight line with constant speed)...

Second Law: "The acceleration of a body is parallel and directly proportional to the net force acting on the body, is in the direction of the net force, and is inversely proportional to the mass of the body"...Love always comes accompanied by ebullience + torment...Hope+Hopelessness...Light+darkness...Love gets fulfilled when its mutual (as seen in Samar-Meera)..But when its one-sided (in case of Akira), then despair automatically knocks at the door...But, if we truly love the very basic essence of 'life', then the 'momentum' of love can't be stopped...No other external force can impose a barrier to the acceleration of life if the wheel of vivacity is driven by the internal force called 'love'...

Third Law: "When a first body exerts a force on a second body, the second body simultaneously exerts a force on the first body"...In this film aka in 'reel life' it was shown that, Meera fell in love with Samar despite their huge socio-economical differences...In 'real-life' too, love can create wonders!! All of us, have our specific requirements/fantasies/expectations regarding our 'special person/lover'...If someone loves us & we don't find our individualistic requirements in that particular person, then we don't reciprocate to his/her feelings in the same way...But, if you truly love a person & decent enough in your approach towards him/her, then, there is a good probability that, your beloved ones will surely respect your attitude & appreciate you for what you are & afterwards, if the cupid strikes, then, this 'liking' can turn out to be 'love' as well...

PERSONAL ATTACHMENT WITH THE SONG 'CHALLA': As per Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche-"Without music life would be a mistake"...Same holds true for Bollywood movies as well...When there is a paradisiacal combination of A.R.Rahman & Gulzar, then anyone will expect some kind of enchantment...Surprisingly that magic did not happen, though 'Challa', 'Saans' & 'Ishq Shava' are beautifully composed as well as nicely written...Almost every Indians who visited London, will surely relate to 'Challa', since this song depicts the typical London charm, with a prime reference to Trafalgar Square, which is the most sparkling open space of this city...Watched the craziness of British teenagers, some of them jumping & dancing in the central bluish fountain of the Square, during a vital match (England vs Germany) of World cup Soccer 2010...After 2 years watched this square being transformed as the cultural 'hotspot' of London, with so many international musical bands performing in the main stage during Olympics 2012...Along with this, every time when I watch this song, I can't help remembering the delicious food shops of Borough market(Showing Samar doing a job there) first unstable footstep in the superfast escalator of Canary Wharf tube(Showing Samar singing while climbing the escalator)...the warm sunshine in the cold water of Thames just beneath the Millennium Bridge & Tower Bridge(Showing Samar as a musician there)...

END OF THE LINE: 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' is a good one-time watch movie, though the length of the movie is a little bit negative side, which could be shortened...Yash Chopra once again, rejuvenated romance in the silver screen with his powerful direction...Go & watch this film if you believe in love...if you keep faith in that famous quote of Robert Heinlein which says, "Love is the condition in which the happiness of another person is essential to your own..."
