The movie conveys two special messages. One, honesty is the best policy and second, respect thy parents. Kadar Khan (Gangaram) is a honest, municipal corporation servant, who strictly follows his set principles. His son (Shakti Kapoor) is an architect and gets a job in a firm whose owner had tried to bribe Gangaram several times. As a result, Gangaram doesnt give his consent to his son taking up the job but his son does not listen to him and leaves his home instead. He marries Shoma Anand. In order build a multi-storey building on Gangarams plot, they apologise to Gangaram and make him agree to live with them. Their son loves his grand parents, which Shaki and Shoma dont like. Finally, one day, Gangaram & his wife leave the house. The grandson (Govinda) later finds his grand father, Gangaram working as a coolie. Govinda creates such situations with the help of his girlfriend (Kimi Katkar), that at the end, Shakti Kapoor and Ahoma Anand realize their mistake and aplogise to Gangaram then they lived happily.
