Mukul and Maya were brother and sister. Maya was a child widow. Asha also belonged to that village. She had none other than her brother Satya. Her step mother Charu didn't like them. Apart from Mukul, no one liked her. On the day of temple foundation, the zamindar's wife Hemlata saw Mukul and she informed Mukul's father Rakhal babu, that Mukul would be her future son-in-law. Mukul informed Asha about her future marriage with Bhabani. Asha didn't say anything. After marriage Hemlata announced that Maya's mother-in-law Mukul would be putting up with his father-in-law's family also wanted to take Maya along with her. So being helpless Rakhal Babu sold his house and left for Brindaban. While leaving Rakhal requested his nephew Naren to check whether Mukul and Maya were alright. Two years had passed. Bhabani's life was very happy with his son and husband. Not getting any news of Maya for a long time Mukul sent Naren to Maya's mother-in-law's house. Mukul came to know that Maya was being tortured by her mother-in-law. Mukul went to see Maya. Getting news of Mukul's visit Asha came to meet him. Bhabani's uncle Kishori babu thought Mukul might have a relation with Asha. So he arranged a marriage of Asha with an old man. In the meantime Maya died due to torture. Satya brought a letter to Asha and Mukul. Asha had requested him to save her from the old man. Mukul went there. Bhabani, Hemlata, Kishori- all started doubting Mukul. Mukul only said he want wanted to save Asha. He didn't want that Asha would die like Maya. Bhabani understood her mistakes She rushed to Asha. And brought Asha to her own place. Gradually Bhabani became sick. Before death he handed over her son to Asha and requested her to be an ideal mother to her son.
