Their mother (Shammi) fixes Alpana's marriage with Dr Anil Gupta (Raj Babbar). He is known to their neighbour Seema and her mother (Dina Pathak). Kalpana lies to her mother that the doctor's character is bad and thereby stops her sister's wedding. Kalpana is taken to Dr Anil and he talks about his "bad" character. She apologises and promptly falls in love with the doctor. But when the gang who supplies drugs finds that Sunil has turned into a new leaf, they suspect him to be a the police informer. So they attack him and try to kidnap Kalpana. When Sunil helps Kalpana escape, he is framed with the charge of murder by the gang. The police arrest Sunil. To save Sunil, Kalpana lies in the court saying that Sunil was with her at a hotel during the murder. The lawyer proves that Sunil is innocent and he is freed. But Kalpana's family and Dr Anil believe that she is a woman of bad character. She leaves home and is kidnapped by the villains.
