    Shankar, a simple village boy wants to become a famous singer. He comes to Kolkata with Gouranga. Amar, who is a struggling singer and composer gives them shelter in his house. Amar is a person who wants to enjoy every moment of life and makes people happy. He has a teenaged sister named Banti. Bunti and Shankar fallis in love with each other. Dr. Sangeeta Basu gets to know that Amar is suffering from blood cancer. Amar faces the reality with his usual liveliness. Maya who loves Amar for a long time also knows the fact. Amar treats Shankar like his own brother and arranges a show for him. Shankar gets admiration in the show and comes in touch with Bharati Banerjee, a renowned singer. Phatik, a jealous boy from the locality, kidnaps Shankar with the help of Rabi the panwala and leaves him on road. Bharati finds him and takes him to her house. Phatik sends false letters to Shankar and Amar. Misunderstandings build up between them. Bharati helps Shankar to become a star. he sings the compositions of Amar. Suddenly Shankar faces an accident and becomes mute. Amar becomes more ill. Rabi reveals the truth of conspiracy to Bunti. Bunti explains everything to Shankar. Shankar comes back and finds his voice in the inspiration of Amar. Amar dies.
