My Rating

  • As if it is real...

Jibon Rang Berang rating: 6 out of 10(Ruplekha Saha wrote on 11 Apr 2011)

Subol Saha (Chiranjeet), a man of principals brings up his younger brothers as own sons. His wife Mira(Debasree) is a big support to his sacrifice and they remain childless for the cause. The brothers Ashok(Premjit) and Somnath(Joyjit) are opportunist and one day as Subol makes a house with all his savings, they throw the elderly couple out of the house.
Subol with the help of his friend, a Paan waala- Lalan(Kunal Mitra) rebuilds his life and career in the office of Avishek (soham) while the younger duo falls into the trap of fraudulence and debts and their lives land up in hell. So its Subol again to lend a helping hand.

Yes Sanghamitra has proved that she can make great films. Her Raatporir Rupkatha was a classic and after that Jeeban Rangberang is a Class of its own. Once compared with Bagbaan,(also considering the budget) this film is more realistic and is close to the skin and one feels as if its happening in our own family.
Good Job done by actors Chiranjeet, Debasree, Soham, Kunal and Lama. Premjit too is good and non-melodramatic. Office scenes look so real. Songs are good especially the song "Jiboner Sandhyay..."
Only debutant Priyanka needs some brushup.
Story is gripping and dialogue are crisp and intelligently sewn with the tune.
This film is a must watch for all emotional men and women who still keep sacrificing for their family so thanklessly.
