EXPECTATIONS - Usually, Dev Movies Obtain Great Expectations Because Of Huge Craze For Dev. One Upon A Time In Kolkata, Jeet Was The one & only heartthrob, but the game changed when Ravi Kinagi introduced Dev as his new foundation. From that time to today, Dev is the only person in bengal film industry whose films catch abnormal crowd and huge expectations and nice acclamation. And another reason for this abnormal crowd is Venkatesh films who hire great directors and big actors and use shiny foreign locations to make a huge collection at the box-office. "Wanted", which was the most dashing comeback of Jeet created huge expectations for "Josh" to be the same. And what do you know, the director's also same here. So, Josh took much expectations because of Jeet, Rabi Kinagi & Venkatesh & Surinder Banner Duo.
Now if I come to the film, then Josh is not a fresh conception at all. Usually, Rabi Kinagi movies are always a copy but the way he presents them is marvelous. Josh has nothing new in it to say and unfortunately one of the disappointing works by Rabi Kinagi but it will strike the chord of success as it's energetic, Attitudinal, a bit emotional and Over all, Joshila.
The story revolves under Indra(Jeet) whose motive in life is to flirt with every girl but suddenly falls in love with his friend Rajib(Angshuman)'s sister Anu(Srabanti). To meet her, he arrives at Rajib's home where lives Rajib's elder brother Surjanath(Tapas Pal) & his sister-in-law Laboni Sarkar. Things get worse when Rudra(Punit Ishaar) aims to terrorize the village and Surjanath tries to stop him. After many blood flows and tragic incidents, how Indra protects Anu from every danger is the remaining.
In Wanted, where Jeet tried to hold his macho & rough look, here he also cracks some good humor, adds a lively nature in his role and creates a great performance to watch out for. Srabanti was nice and bubbly and looked very pretty & cute in some scenes and had a great wardrobe which matched his sweet and cute nature. Tapas Pal as a non-violent, cant stand injustice type man was commendable. Angshuman as Indra's buddy was so so. Supriyo Dutta as Tapas pal's assistant was a nice watch. But The two most wonderful thing in this movie to experience were Hillarious Haranath Bandopadhyay as Indra's grandpa & a cameo by Rabi Kinagi himself. Haranath Bandopadhyay was awesome in a word and his comedy was watchable.
Rabi Kinagi is the finest director till today from his debut in tollywood. But Josh is tame at some moments and is fully not like Rabi ji's intelligent works. But whatever Josh is, is because of Rabi ji. Other directors might not have controlled this old-concept ed movie so well. But this one's not as awesome as 'Wanted'.
When The name of Jeet Ganguly glides at the music director's name in a movie, the music is sure a hit! And josh is also the same. Some Joshila tracks like "Title Track", "Khujechi Toke Raat Berate" and peppy track like "Sexy Meye" and a romantic track like "Keno Aaj Kal" and a emotional one "Pirit Koris Na" creates damn good impression on the listeners. Also watch out another masterpiece "Target" by him.
Highly Expected Josh does energize us on theaters but some tame moments also bores as well. But Massive action sequences, some attitudinal dialogues will create loud claps and whistles in theater as well as Josh will make you emotional when The Fight between Surjanath & Rudra will occur. Allover, Josh is a commendable job and recommended highly for the masses. It will win many audience in first two-three weeks but may slow down after that. Anyway, it's recommended mainly for Jeet-Rabi Kinagi historic Jodi.
