With the recent onslaught of animation films, the kid’s seem to be having a rather good time. And with names like Akshay Kumar, Dimple Kapadia etc associated with them, it’s but natural that the film generates a lot of curiosity. Leave apart the fact that they are restricted to mere voice overs.
Jumbo, an adaptation of a Chinese tale is about a baby elephant, his dreams & aspirations of becoming the royal elephant just like his missing father. It’s the story of his journey in search of his father. The characters that he meets on his way while doing so, the kind of effect that these have on his life and how they help in shaping up what he lands up being. Eventually, he turns a war elephant who plays a vital role in defending his kingdom from the so called villains.
The animation is of high caliber as compared to the one’s that we’ve had in India. Of course, we still have to reach the milestones of our Western counterparts. Moreover it can be termed as a Masala entertainer, albeit an animation one, as it has all the ingredients of one. Be it rmance, comedy or action, the makers seem to have gone in for all. The highlight of the film is the few scenes that are filmed on Bollywood’s current favorite Akshay Kumar. Also, the voice overs are of top notch quality which make it all the more enjoyable. A couple of songs, namely Everything’s gonna be alright & Dil mera Jumbo are already popular.
So Bol Meri “Filmi Khopdi” is film mein kitna hain dum? Kaafi dum hai .. All in all, Jumbo is a treat for the audiences this festive season. It’s a film that conveys the message that determination, courage & persistence pays off. So, go & watch it, you won’t regret.
