This story is about a honest police officer Shekhar Verma(Vinod Khanna) who loves his wife Meena (Meenakshi Sheshadri) and his daughter. He is very close to his friend Kadam (Shafi Inamdar) who is also a police officer. One he goes for a night duty for the protection of Geeta Sarabhai (Sangeeta Bijlani), who gets threat calls since she has witnessed an editor's murder. Somehow he gets into an extra marital affair with Geeta. After that he feels sorry for what he has done but Geeta falls in love with him.and his wife Meena comes to know about his affair. Now what will Meena do? Will Geeta go away from his life? Will Shekhar save Geeta from the criminals?
