    Jyothika Saravanan is a former Tamil film actress who acted in several Tamil films. She also acted in a few Kannada, Malayalam, Telugu and Hindi films. Her films include Chandramukhi, Vettaiyadu Villaiyadu and Mozhi. Jyothika was born to Chander Sadanah, a film producer, and Seema Sadanah, on 18 October 1978 in Mumbai, India. She was born into aPunjabi family. Actress Nagma is her half sister. She completed her schooling in Learner's Academy, Mumbai. She later majored in Psychology at the Mithibai College in Mumbai. She also has a sister Roshini (born Radhika) and a brother Suraj, who is working as an assistant director for Priyadarshan.
    She married actor Surya Sivakumar on 11 September 2006, with whom she had acted in several films. The couple has a daughter, Diya, born in August 10, 2007 and son Dev, born in June 7, 2010.
    Her first movie was the Hindi film Doli Saja Ke Rakhna with her co-star Akshay Khanna , directed by Priyadarshan.
    She later ventured into the Kollywood film industry. Her first role, in 1999, was a cameo appearance in Vaali, which starred Ajith Kumar andSimran. That year, another film, Poovellam Kettuppar was released. She played the protagonist's love interest, alongside her husband, Surya Sivakumar.
    She was awarded the Filmfare Best Tamil Actress Award for her role in Kushi. She also received the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Actress for Perazhagan in 2004, Chandramukhi in 2005 and Mozhi in 2007.
