    Right since the inception of Hindi Cinema, films based on books {Mythology, Folk Tales, Fables, etc} have always gained attention of its viewers. Gradually this moved to popular literature and later pot boiler novels. Sadly few decades back this trend took a huge backstage. But with changing times the trend came back with more daring subjects doing proper justice to the book.     There were times when our master storyteller Jeetendra's nephew Abhishek Kapoor was keen to make a dynamic debut as a hero in Bollywood. Sadly that potential got beaten up badly. But what really worked wonders was rise of a dynamic director and storyteller Abhishek Kapoor through his luminous work "ROCK ON!". It was no less than a masterpiece and also one of the best movies based on friendship in ages. 'KAI PO CHE' is also another friendship movie where behind the story and script is none other than Chetan Bhagat, one of the most exceptional young writers in ages.

    The Bollywood Fraternity praising the film and other Publications giving some high regards and positive reviews to Kai Po Che, I went and saw the film in a decent cinema hall. Despite keeping the fact in mind that Kai Po Che title would be understood only by 'Gujrat' audience or 'Gujrati' speaking people. While i am writing this Review, I still have no clue about the meaning of 'Kai Po Che'.

    3 small town guys of Gujrat ... 3 different lives tied in one knot ... 3 aspirations flowing in one stream ... Abhishek Kapoor picked all those porous ball up from Chetan Bhagat's "The 3 Mistakes Of My Life" and string them into one garland ... and the aroma of the garland is still with me ... As the book itself is hugely popular, 9 out of every 10 people knows the story, and who don't -- go and watch the movie ; it's a request.

    The end shot of Kai Poche sums it all, if the teacher is good and has given a good foundation to the student, the student would ultimately make a mark for himself under the sun. Indeed, watching Kai Poche in a multiplex, it was a pleasant surprise to observe the audience clapping in unison, a sort of salute to the teacher who stood tall against religious bigotry, against social ostracisation to see to it that the rough diamond that he had found is polished to become a dazzling star.

    'Kai Po Chhe' in Gujarati means 'I have cut.', commonly used while flying kites, as a victory shout.

    This movie is based on Chetan Bhagat's yet another novel - 'The 3 mistakes of my life' and ya you may accuse me of filmy reading but I have read most of his novels and liked it. Here you go. This one was no different and hence I had high hopes with the movie, I must say I was not disappointed. Even though the story has been changed at many a places. It's a good make.

    Still cannot make up my mind about the movie. The book had not impressed me much either. Actors are capable of doing much more I think. It was not as original as it should have been. There's always a problem if a plot addresses too many issues. It loses focus. » read more

    Kai po che is an awesome movie similar to the novel by Chetan Bhagat. Abhishek Kapoor did justice to what Chetan Bhagat had written. There were certain changes but that was necessary to reduce the duration. It wasnt boring, lengthy, illogical like other bollywood movies these days. Everything related to this movie: star cast,music, location, just everything suited very well. I would give it a five star from my side. A must watch. » read more
