Seema Roy was an Art Teacher in a Calcutta School. Her parents were dead; her brother went to abroad for higher studies. She had one other but unwanted relative - her uncle. He had always moved in a wrong way, so Seema kept no relation with him. Kana was Seema's colleague. Seema went to Darjeeling with Kana's family. There she met with young Narayan Choudhury. Gradually they became friends and came closer to each other. With a new feeling Seema came back to Calcutta. After returning she found in her absence some body had ransacked her room, probably in search of some thing. After that she was summoned from Lal Bazar. From there she was informed that her uncle Suresh Roy had been murdered. Actually Suresh Roy a smuggler of diamonds. He was murdered because he might have cheated his smuggling gang. The diamonds were not found. Seema understood that, being a relative of Suresh Roy, police suspecting her also. Her suspicion grew maze by the interrogation C.I.D Officer Prithbis Neogi. He was in charge of the investigation of Suresh Roy's murder. He informed Seema that there were many members of the gang. One day one of them Satu Basak planed Seema and asked her to return the diamonds. He also threatened her. In the mean time Narayan Choudhury has returned to Calcutta. Seema and Narayan Choudhury were though close, but Seema could not trust him fully, Suresh Roy's gang one day attacked Seema. Narayan rescued her that day. One day Satu Basak and Prasad Bhattacharya, another member of the gang came to Seeme's house. Again they wanted back the diamonds. That time Satu rescued Seema. Satu was a tenant of Bina's son. Satu told that when Seema was away in Darjeeling Suresh Roy kept a wooden Buddha idol as a gift for Seema to his mother Bina. Satu and Prasad became interested hearing about that Buddha idol.
