Salibahan, the King of Singhal, could not understand the miracle of a women sitting on a lotus in the water of Kalidah. One day Dhanapati, disiple of Siva, told Salibahan that he had seen the woman sitting on a lotus in the black waters of Kalidah. Salibahan said if he could show him he would get half of the kingdom, and if he failed all his property would be seized. But Dhanapati failed and he was imprisoned on the charga of telling a lie. In the meantime a child was born to Dhaanapati's wife Khullana. The child was named Sreemanta. A news came that all the six boats of Dhanapati had been drowned and Dhanapati himself was traceless. Sreemanta grew up. A maid servant Durbala conspired with Bachaspati and instigated Lahan to throw out Khullana. So Lahana made the letter on which before going out for the business trip Dhanapati accepted the fatherhood of Sreemanta. Khullana was thrown out of her house. Sreemanta and Khullana took shelter in a hut. Durbala and Bachaspati wanted them to burn and set five in that hut. But by god's grace both were saved. The people of the country all protseted against Lahan's attitude. So Lahana brought Khullana and her son back. Sreemanta was also foxed by the scene of a woman sitting on a lotus in the water of Kalidah and similarly failing to show the same his property was also seized and he was sentenced to death. Princess Sushila informed Dhanapati in the jail about her father's cruel deeds. But again due to God's grace Sreemanta was kept in the prison next to Dhanapati. Curious Dhanapati asked about the father's name to Sreemanta. When Sreemanta told that Dhanapati was his father,Dhanapati told him that he was Dhanapati. Next morning the executioner came to take Sreemanta to the killing field. Dhanapati started praying to the Lord Siva. Now it was impossible to stay cool for Lord Siva. Then Dhanapati and Sreemanta was freed.Khullana became happy.
