Some of the film directors are taking Bollywood into an all new terrain... which would ultimately result in a wide diversification of genres of movies , something that Hollywood has attained. Leading the herd, is surely Vishal Bharadwaj.
Welcome to the world of dark cinema!!! Vishal Bharadwaj has successfully built characters with peculiar nuiances. The gravity of each character is palpable by their dialogues, mannerisms and body language. The plot of the movie is pretty ordinary , but it is the screenplay and direction that lifts the movie to an all new level.
Shahid Kapur has delivered his career best performance. Priyanka Chopra would be remembered for this role amidst those in futuristics, fashionable and other urbane movies. One great discovery is Amole Gupte , who plays the role of Bhope Bhau. The ease with which he gets into the skin of the character, makes you wonder at his acting prowess. This is the same man who wrote the story and script of Taare Zameen Par and started directing it, when the perfectionist Aamir Khan decided to take the reins in his own hands, as the latter wasnt "fully" convinced.
The music of the movie grows on you. Dhan Te Nan is tipped to be a cult song on the lines of "Cholee ke Peechhe" and "Ek Do Teen".
This movie definitely belongs to Shahid Kapur, who plays the dual role of the shrewd Charlie and naive Guddu with ease and conviction. Kudos to Vishal Bharadwaj for milking each actor's potential to the fullest.
Cheers to Film makers who dares to be different!!!
