Karthik comes to stay with his Pishi and Pishemoshai (a miserly moneylender).Pishemoshai dies soon afterwards and Karthik starts looking after his business. One day Pishima send him to recover money from Keshab Halder an unsuccessful astrologer who owes her a lot of money. Keshab comes to meet Pishima and tells her that her nephew(from her husband’s side, the actual inheritor of the wealth would one day return). She tells him if that happens, she would waive off his money. Karthik falls in love with Rajani, Keshab’s daughter whom he had first met when he had gone to their house. Pishima’s nephew Dibya, comes back from the Himalayas and Pishima takes to him instantly and starts neglecting Karthick. Dibya also starts behaving rudely with Karthick and his marriage is fixed with Karthik. He decides to leave everything and go away. Meanwhile the family’s own Baba comes one day and says that Pishima’s actual nephew hadn’t returned, but Dibya was actually one of his disciples and since he had forgotten his ‘Gurudev’, he had come himself to get his pound of flesh. He tells Pishima to sign a document stating he would become the owner of the property. She is forced to do so as Gurudev had come with his goons and had beaten up both Karthick and Dibya when he tried to protest. Another tussle follows where Dibya gets shot by Gurudev and the cops arrive and arrest him.
