A routine duty, that is to to escort a terrorist and ISI agent Iqbal Ansari from Chandangadh to Mumbai, ends up becoming a difficult and dangerous mission.
The first escort team of police officers is blown up in an encounter, however, Ansari did not manage to escape. Now another team from Mumbai is commissioned to complete the task with D.C.P. Anant Shrivastav "The Professor" (Amitabh Bachchan), heading it. A police officer in the fag end of his career, considered to be a failure, on the eve of his daughter's wedding, was given this crucial assignment. This was his one last chance to make a difference. Sr. Inspector Shekhar Sachdev (Akshay Kumar) is street-smart and does not want to be a part of this suicide mission, but he had no choice. Forced on the mission, he made his own agenda. Sub Inspector Ashwin Gupte (Tusshar Kapoor), a young middle class officer on his first serious assignment, full of ambition and good intention, finds that there is a difference between training school and the ground realities. Three officers accompanied by two constables, are now given the charge of escorting a dreaded terrorist, and a crucial witness in the case against him, from Chandanghad to Mumbai. They are thwarted by someone who didn't want them to get to Mumbai. A nameless, faceless enemy who lurked in the shadows, who was always one step ahead of them. An enemy who would do all he could to stop them, come what may, and who revealed a world in which no-one could be trusted.
