Joseph (Nana Patekar) & his wife Flavy (Seema Biswas) are both physically challenged, who suffer from deaf mute and therefore speech disorders. Married and deeply in love the couple has a daughter & a son. The poor couple suffers financial distress when Joseph loses his job of selling soap. His son also dies in an accident when he falls of a church shire. The devastated couple blame their daughter Annie, who can hear and talk, for not caring about her brother at the time of the incident. The other conflict they share with Annie is her love and passion for music. Only her grandmother (Helen) supports her in this. When Annie grows up (Manisha Koirala) and decides to become a singer, her parents don't agree. But she meets Raj (Salman Khan) who is a music director. They fall in love and he persues her to come to Mumbai and sing professionally. But Annie doesnot want to leave her parents. Her resolve to sing, and her father Joseph's absolute refusal to accept her decision, forces Annie to elope and marry Raj. She does become a successful singe and the couple are living happily, when Joseph finally accepts them. The final twist comes in when Annie & Raj meets with an accident & Annie is about to die.But Joseph calls her with his silence, and his love works a miracle. Annie wakes up & everything is fine in the end.
