Khichdi The Movie rating: 7 out of 10(Aakash Barvalia wrote on 14 Oct 2010)

After watching this film, I am just hoping that when would ‘Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai’ going to be released. Watching comedy films with some logic inside it is always entertaining, but watching comedy with brainless logic inside it, with hearing all sorts of PJ’s inside it, and watching a complete mad film, is altogether extraordinary entertaining film. Though these kind of stuff does entertain very few, and so we have attained such results of this movie, ‘Khichdi The Movie”.

It’s a sweet, simple, totally filmy, and absolute mad story of a complete mad family. JD’s father is on a death bed and his last wish was that his son should get married with a sweet and simple girl. But JD has another wish that he should a great love story before getting married with anyone. He tried many attempts to search for his girl, but failed. Atlast one fine moment he fell in love with the girl staying neighborhood, “Parminder”, and vice-a-versa. Both the family agreed and decided a fixed date for marriage. But on the other side JD was unhappy as he was not happy with his this kind of love story. He wanted to add some masala into it such as rona-dhona, bidai, family dushman, and then milap and happily ever after. Now in chakkar of all this, he got arrested in the charge of killing the best friend of her fiancé Parminder’s brother, Chakku Singh. JD was in jail and all that rona-dhona, bidai, family dushman started, and Parminder’s brother decided to marry her sister somewhere else. Will JD would be free from jail? Will JD and Parminder would get united again? Watch this non-stop mad story, with mad performances, with ofcourse mad entertainment in it.

Direction by Aatish Kapadia is super as compare to his TV Serial direction. Writing by him is again upto the mark and funny as compared to its TV serial version. Performances by all of them are just too good, and had performed more than viewer’s expectations. Music given by Raju Singh is extreme lovable. All the songs and the background score had made the film not only ‘Super’ but ‘Supakkk’.

For those who have already seen the TV serial of this movie quite often, knows how mad family is this, and what kind of dialogues and scenes would be inside it. So it’s but natural to expect such kind of things in the movie. For those who didn’t like the movie that much, are the ones who has needlessly expected a lot from this movie, without knowing that it’s ‘The – Khichdi The Movie’. And for the ones who liked the movie, are the ones who really belong to one of the member of the Parekh family here, or now better can be said as Parekh & Parminder’s family.

So finally, if you want non-stop senseless comedy, and wanted to go mad by pulling your hair in their foolishness and laughing and smiling for your entertainment, then it’s a definite must watch.

    3.5 / 5
