What Aakash had said in his synopsis is exactly right; the story is somewhat like Romeo & Juliet, with ofcourse some differences.
Madhuri Dixit and Chunkey Pandey play as two characters who fall in love with each other. She is rich and engaged to be married, he is poor and unemployed. The two struggle against all odds to be together. But I actually didn’t like the climax; they both die same as Romeo Juliet Heer-Ranjha. But that were old classics, and in 90’s this was to be considered as total rubbish, now in practical life Romeo and Heer, Ranjha and Juliet!
Anyways It's a kind of a typical mediocre Indian film where social class stand between love, and that’s why the film was a total slump.
