Kidnap is a high octane, edge of the seat kind of drama about a power tussle between a young boy and the father of the girl he kidnaps.
Sonia (Minissha Lamba) lives with her mother, Mallika (Vidya Malvade) and grandmother because her parents got divorced when she was only ten. A week before her eighteenth birthday celebration, she gets kidnapped. The abductor, Kabir (Imran Khan) is interested in speaking only to her father, Vikrant Raina (Sanjay Dutt), the richest Indian in the world worth USD 51bn, based in New York, with whom he has an old score to settle. Kabir will only negotiate with Vikrant Raina. Is it only to torture Raina or there is some other sinister motive? He doesn't demand any ransom. He wants to play a twisted game.
Vikrant returns to India to retrieve his daughter from Kabir's clutches but has to be on the run and carry out a series of daunting tasks set out by Kabir as a condition to rescue her. At the end of each task is a clue that helps Vikrant in coming closer to Sonia.
What will Vikrant Raina do in a world, where his money and power means nothing and control has been snatched from him? Is his mission as easy as it seems? How far will a father go to save his daughter? Is there redemption for Kabir at the end?
