Kimmi Verma was born near Ludhiana and soon after her 10th grade, moved with the family, to Bombay. She attended Mithibhai College from where she graduated in Commerce and then went on to do her MBA.

Still at College midway in the 90’s, she competed in Miss Bombay and Miss India contests and walked away with the title in the first and the Femina Miss India Beautiful Hair in the second. She was soon picked up by the advertising world and landed up with plush assignments modeling for Sunsilk, HSBC, Maggi Noodles, Clinic Plus, Nescafe to name a few and even became the spokesperson for Ponds Skin Care Products in India, UK and Egypt.

Kimmi Verma started her career as an actress in noted Director Manmohan Singh's 'Naseebo' while she was still studying. Manmohanji was looking for a fresh face for the title role. Her father’s writer friend Baldev Singh who did “ Chann Pardesi” which went on to win the National award introduced her to the Director.

She has also acted in a few Hindi films and anchored a TV serial "Meri Saheli" for Star Plus a few years ago.

She has in her credit superhit films like Qahar, Khoon Da Daaj and Shaheed Udham Singh which she did before moving to America. Later on, she continued doing films like Ji Aaya Nu, Asaa Noon Maan Vatna Di and now Mera Pind My Home. In most Manmohanji's film, she has played the role of a village belle. She is also working in 'Sasriakaal', being made by Mata Tripathi Trust.

According to her, she is not interested in doing Hindi films at all. She has her own apparel business in Los Angeles. She moved to US for higher studies and is concentrating on Punjabi flicks only, as Punjabi is her mother tongue and she wants to do something to uplift the Punjabi film industry.
