Invariably, when I go in to see a movie without any expectations I come out pleasantly surprised.
Seeing the movie almost a week after it was released, I had access to a fair share of feedback in the form of reviews and ratings. Didn't see a rating more than 3 and hence expectations were low. However, this time round, the magic of a pleasant surprise did not happen. (Maybe next time I'll ensure that I carry a lucky charm).
Kismat Konnection, was all in all, an average movie.
It reminded one of Aziz Mirza's previous, such as Yes Boss, but the venture sorely missed a good musical score this time round.
Vidya looked uncomfortable in her shoes and Shahid too close to Shahrukh for comfort. Effort on expressions, and playing the roles was evident, which should not have been the case.
However, there were scenes which were endearing. Shahid, when he is down in the dumps, the song in which he woos Vidya clandestinely on her engagement, when he looks at her when she is looking away, were his moments in the film.
Vidya is beautiful, but the film did not showcase her beauty effectively.
Juhi Chawla was surprisingly good in her cameo as Haseena Bano Jaan.
A predictable ending concluded a mediocre film. Go for it if you don't have anything else to do.
