Jatin (Fardeen Khan) and Karishma (Amrita Arora) are two young NRI's. They both are alien to each other, but are very similar. They are anything but modern. Although they have spent their deciding years in America, they have succeeded in retaining the indian values their parents inculcated in them. Their marriage is fixed in a traditional indian manner with an unknown person whom their parents think is suitable for them. The relation between Jatin and Karishma starts off with a small misunderstanding which leads to a huge fight between them. But as luck would have it, they have no other option but to share a taxi if they want to reach their destinations in time. Through a series of affairs, they are mistaken as a newly wed couple. But since thats the way, they can reach their homes safely, they decide to pretend as actual husband and wife. However, they come close to each other as they spend sometime together and get to know more about each other. And before one can assume any further, they are in Love. However, they soon realise that their paths are different and decide to curb their feelings for each other. What entangles the story even more is that Karishma is none other than best friend of Jaya (Sonali Kulkarni), Jatin's to-be-bride. As the rituals are performed, the star-crossed lovers have to see each other parting apart by every second. Not able to bear it any more, Jatin and Karishma decide to forget each other and start a new life. But can True love ever be kept hidden?
