Atlast…Hollywood has got their own “Rajnikanth”

Knight And Day rating: 5 out of 10

James Mangold…has given us one more….wait a second…what did he gave us his previous ones?? Anyways, he has given us something very entertaining, which will make you laugh, and again laugh, and laugh till you cracked down the floor. But wait a second…people is thinking that this is something action genre film right? Not really actually, it’s a combo for our lovely audiences, an action-comedy movie!!! Don’t be surprised, our Rajnikanth comes in many of those films. Let’s have a peek-a-boo about something what’s cooking in this film.

    I enjoyed it!

The use of the unconscious scenes while interesting and also not often used while having a consistent theme and use at times were not well edited leaving the audience wondering about what and how the characters were able to accomplish what they did. The beginning sequences of this movie, however, were quite exhilarating not for the action, but for the close up facial shots of Cruise and Diaz in non-verbal human expressions that are rarely shot in these movies and made for some pretty fascinating cerebral contemplation and interaction not seen usually in such action comedies. ... » read more

    Only one flaw: Writing

Knight And Day rating: 4 out of 10

Unfortunately I felt that Cruise and Diaz are both getting a little old to play these sorts of roles, it may have been more enjoyable with a younger cast. Anyway you wonder about the future of Hollywood, because you feel it can only recycle this plot so many times. The chases and explosions are top-of-the range and it's the type of film that Hollywood used to be very good at making. Unfortunately it contains no real surprises and I felt as if I had seen it all before - similar plots were used in Mission Impossible 3 and also the Bourne Identity. Infact the opening theme ... » read more

Not Great Cinema, But Not A Bore

Knight And Day rating: 0 out of 10

Quite often, I end up at places where I’m not supposed to be. On one such occasion, when I was roaming around in Hollywood, I chanced upon the team of Knight And Day at a place that I don’t want to reveal. Obviously, they weren’t aware of my presence (no one ever is), and that gave me the perfect opportunity to eavesdrop…

Cruise: Phew, I’ve just finished shooting for MI4, I’m tired.
Mangold: Please, Tom, you’ve got to do this for us, Knight And Day is in shambles. We need you.
Cruise: What the hell makes you think I’ll accept a film that’s been rejected ... » read more

    Knight fails to shine

Knight And Day rating: 6 out of 10

Watching Cruise and Diaz on screen is always an exciting prospect hence you normally tend to let go of those silly glitches that may have otherwise appeared incongruous before the eye. Definitely not action at its hilt, considering what Hollywood has delivered earlier. But entertaining, yes. Passable as a one time watch, but nothing to go ga-ga about. The film infact has a lot of loose strings scattered here and there, and if not looking keenly, you'd be more then likely to miss it. Having a smart director always helps, who can highlight the less-important so grandiosely ... » read more
