The first scene of ‘Kalir Arjun’ starts with a guy pushing a wheelbarrow to the hospital with an injured lady on it., but goons prevent him from doing so. The guy turns around and what a grand entry of the debutante Raaj!!!!!!!He starts bashing them up and his sister finally gets operated upon and the operation is successful. The hero is introduced after the end of the credits towards the beginning of a film to make it more dramatic. The rest of the film is about how Raaj keeps on appearing in song and dance sequences from time to time with Moubani (Sanaa), his girlfriend when he is not bashing up goons sent by his sister’s in-laws who try to finish him for becoming an obstacle in their way in preventing his sister Koely, the closest person to him from getting killed.
Though the hero Raaj has been introduced in a rather dramatic manner, but he is terrible in every which way.Nowadays it seems as if a lot of young guys are queuing up to be heroes in Tollywood without having what it takes. He looks to be of below average height and one felt even Moubani was taller than him.The less said about him, the better. There is simply nothing good about the film.It seems that a few scenes have been shot at the South City Mall. The songs are terrible, the voices amateurish and what more can you say about a song whose first words are “Mutton Kabab Chicken Fry”???????Such is the degradation of our Bengali film music. As for Moubani, just like her blink and miss role in her debut film ‘Badla’, here she has nothing to do other than wear several dresses in the shortest possible time and she is not cut out to be a heroine in any which way as she cant act and has a disproportionate figure.
