Mehul Kumar's KRANTIVEER [Nana Patekar, Dimple Kapadia] is best remembered, among other things, for Nana's fiery performance and his outburst in the finale, when he's about to be hanged in public. But it seems like Mehul wanted to prove a point to someone or wanted to live upto the promise of a sequel he had made to the viewers. So he gave us a poor clone of his super hit film. Though he handles the plot like a complete expert, like he had in his earlier stage, typically the same way and same direction; more so towards the second hour, which has some mind blowing engrossing moments, which will definitely make you laugh, oops I mean claps! The movie looks like Mehul Kumar's C grade attempt of desperation to spring back. But unfortunately this film will only harm the director's reputation who has given us good films like Tiranga and Kohram. But in terms of its message, Mehul Kumar does manage to make a case for the young Indians to come forward and take up the reins of governance in a country dominated by doddering politicians.
