Mehul Kumar has started his career in Directorship since 1977, and unfortunately for him till now only two films are being watchable, Krantiveer (1994) and Tirangaa (1993). Now after a span of about 6yrs he came back in the industry to direct one more film, and he thought why not to make the remake of Krantiveer, the only film of him which was running a super good successfully at the box office. But he forgot that it ran just because of the one man called “Nanapatekar”, still also a class actor. And so the film hit nai, balki pit gayi.

Let’s do Kranti against Mehul Veer…

Mehul Kumar's KRANTIVEER [Nana Patekar, Dimple Kapadia] is best remembered, among other things, for Nana's fiery performance and his outburst in the finale, when he's about to be hanged in public. But it seems like Mehul wanted to prove a point to someone or wanted to live upto the promise of a sequel he had made to the viewers. So he gave us a poor clone of his super hit film. Though he handles the plot like a complete expert, like he had in his earlier stage, typically the same way and same direction; more so towards the second hour, which has some mind blowing engrossing ... » read more

Krantiveer - The Revolution rating: 4 out of 10

Certainly, this film’s makers can’t quite afford Mr Patekar for a supposed sequel anymore. They’ve cast instead the producer-director’s daughter sitting at home. Though Jahan delivers a fiery performance and remains true to her character but she also looks a little bit like Mamta Kulkarni and a little bit like Tisca chopra and that is all that strikes you about her through the film. Sameer Aftab is polite. Aditya and Harsh are all right. Govind Namdeo and Mukesh Tiwari performed their wickedness parts with no difficulty. Ashok Samarth stands out in the quarrel sequence ... » read more

    Krantiveer - Reloaded

Krantiveer - The Revolution rating: 3 out of 10

This one is strictly for movie lovers of 1980's and early 1990's. If you miss those kinds of movies and want to go back to the theaters to watch a few young actors preach to the nation in never-ending dialogues high with jingoism and low on acting skills, this is the right movie for you. Mehul Kumar, the director and producer works time machine magic brings back everything that other film makers have moved lightyears away from.

Krantiveer - The Revolution is retro cinema and idealism on overdose. And did I forget to mention some amateur acting from some fresh ... » read more

Raising a strong voice against the system, corrupt netas, dishonest cops, fraudulent land sharks and the corrupt practices in general has been a fav subject of dream merchants in Bollywood. Mehul Kumar's KRANTIVEER [Nana Patekar, Dimple Kapadia] is best remembered, among other things, for Nana's fiery performance and his outburst in the finale, when he's about to be hanged in public. I distinctly recall, the single screens [there weren't multiplexes then] reverberated with ceetees and taalis when Nana delivered those acidic lines.

Roshni (Jahan Bloch) is the young daughter of the man responsible for the last revolution, Pratap Narayan Tilak and his wife (Nana Patekar and Dimple Kapadia). She just like her dad wants to rid the nation of corruption, and the evils present in the society. She gets herself a platform by joining a TV channel as an investigative journalist. She is hell bent on exposing all the scams in the country including those involving high profile businessmen and top ministers. Along with her friends Vishal (Samir Aftab), Goldie (Aditya Singh Rajput) and Uday (Harsh Rajput) she takes ... » read more
