Maan Singh (Bharat Kapoor) and Prithvi Singh's (Sunil Dutt) families were engaged in a legal property dispute in Courts. The Court gave a verdict in favor of Prithvi, and Maan hires a bandit, Panna Singh (Goga Kapoor), to kill Prithvi Singh and his family. Panna partially succeeds and gets badly wounded. He moves to a forest to run away from Prithvi. Prithvi had lost his sister and other family members to this vicious assault, and vowed to take revenge by killing Maan's family. He does so with partial success, thus incurring the wrath of Maan's Police Inspector brother, Suraj Singh. Prithvi then goes into hiding and becomes Daku Prithvi Singh. He is jailed. Thakur runs away from the jail to meet his ailing wife for the last time, where he meets his daughter. His sister helps him in taking care of Chandra (Ayesha Julka). When young Chandra grows to become adult ,Chandra Meets Akash (Salman Khan) on a mela. They meet and fall in love with each other. When she loves him, she tells her Aunt (Rohini Hatangdi) about it and her father tries to know about Chandra's love interest, Akash and goes to his home. Akash is none other than Suraj Singh's daughter. On seeing Prithvi Singh's photo in his house he declines the proposal. Daku meets police officer to threaten him to kill his son if he doesn't keep him away from Chandra.
