Kushti rating: 1 out of 10(Aakash Barvalia wrote on 16 May 2010)

I guess the concept of the fight between Khalli vs Rajpal Yadav is indeed very funny and very attractive. But somebody has said it very correctly; all the glitters are not gold. This is even not silver also, infact not even steel also.
Written and directed by Mr. T.K.Rajeev Kumar, who has previously directed movies like Chal Chala Chal. Starring Govinda & others and also one movie named as “Raja ko Rani se Pyaar ho gaya” starring Arvind Swamy, Manisha Koirala & others. In this movie also he came up with the idea of elephant in the story, but same as always, all that glitters are not gold. Story and screenplay are just waste of time, in making as well in watching also.

As said earlier by one of my friend, very simple and very predictable. It’s the story of about one village where “Kushti”, i.e. Wrestling is very famous as being inspired by the lord Hanuman. There are also two rivalries, Om Puri & Sharat Saxena, who often have competition between them. Now one day, a short man, Chander (Rajpal Yadav) was appointed as Post Master in that village and that too some post master was being appointed after a very long-long years of time in that village. He fell in love with one beautiful girl, Ladli (Nargis), in that village. But as she was the daughter of one of the rivalries, Sharat Saxena, so Chander was very scared and in that fear, by mistakenly he has exchanged the two letters of Om puri and Sharat Saxena; plus everybody in the village got to knew that he is fallen in love with Laadli. Chander was in big tension now, and finally the decision came out that Chander will fight, or play Kushti with the big famous wrestler man called as “Khalli”.

You guys will think that now will be the real fun will start! Sorry to say, but now the real time of phusti will start.

    My comment:
As Khalli entrance in the film is at the end, but to survive till the end, is very difficult and you would really need “Kasht+Tea”.

Writer and Director T.K.Rajeev Kumar was the Associate Director of the film called “Hulchul” which was directed by the none other than Mr. Priyadarshan. And that’s why he has casted the whole cast and crew of any Priyadarshan’s film. But I guess Mr. Rajeev Kumar ahs forgotten that no matter who has been casted, story and the screenplay is all that matters. Which, he had failed to deliver us something good here.

It’s also a sheer waste of talent of such as talented actors like; Om Puri, Asrani, Manoj Joshi and Sharat Saxena as well. Rest, Rajpal Yadav was literally as usual annoying the whole public in the theatre throughout the whole film, Nargis was looking very beautiful but acted strictly Ok, I guess less that Ok, and The Great Khali acted badly, wrestled badly too, and his dubbing was too good.

    Final verdict:
This Kushti becomes Phusti even after taking the great khali the wrestler in the film. So public log, if and only if you are the great-great fan of the wrestler “Rajpal Yadav”, then only watch this film.

    0.5 / 5
