Expectations - If you have watched "Band Baaja Baaraat" then you can't even think to miss Ladies V/S. Ricky Bahl. Ranveer-Anushka chemistry, Ranveer's charm and killer looks, Anushka's smart and stylish acting skills, superb music by Salim-Sulaiman and Maneesh Sharma's smart and entertaining direction skills which comes in a "Yash Raj Films" brand-mark - everything was back again in this movie. The stylish promos, Ranveer-Anushka's "Thug Le" music video & that promising comeback feel - everything raised people's expectations much much higher. Frankly, I was extremely keen ... » read more

    Great start, poor finishing

Three women hire a fourth to try and get even with a con-man. The movie started with a lot of promise and for a moment I thought the director, Maneesh Sharma, has finally graduated from being an Assitant Director. Ranveer Singh carried the role of a con-man really well. Parineeta Chopra as Dimple Chaddha was simply superb and indeed a good find. Let see if she can survive in the industry for long. Dippanita Sharma as a no non-sense business executive, Raina Parulekar, was good and Aditi Sharma as Saira Rashid was just ok. The biggest let down in the movie is the second ... » read more

Ladies V/s Ricky Bahl: A Decent Attempt

On the onset let me be clear that “Ladies V/s Ricky Bahl” is no “Band Baaja Baraat”. The story is of a con man Ricky Bahl (Ranveer Singh) and how he cons the builder’s daughter Dimple (Parineeti Chopra) as Sunny by selling a Bungalow to her builder father in Delhi, Raina (Deepanita Sharma) by selling her the fake Hussain Painting in Mumbai as Deven and Saira (Aditi Sharma) in Lucknow by duping her by posing as Iqbal from Bareily whose family is into Zardozi work. Post which all these three ladies plan to con Ricky Bahl through Ishita Desai (Anushka Sharma) a street ... » read more

You can say one thing about 'Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl' - the movie has more sophistication than its kitschy name. The title would have you imagine a kind of women's liberation movement against Ricky Bahl, but thankfully, this is just a bunch of ladies taking 'revenge' against a conman who exploits their foolishness.

After 'Band Baaja Baaraat', it is not too much to expect a similar show from the same team that had given us such a hearty entertainer. Sadly, 'Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl', doesn't quite hit it off. The first part of the movie is engaging and entertaining, but ... » read more
