Director Raj Mukherjee’s new film Lakshyabhed has an English title too and it is “The Tatget”. Now the question is who is the target?
If audience is the target of the director, then I must say that this film has failed to hit the bull’s eye of the target.
There are several reasons.
Poor and loud acting.
Unnecessary song and dance sequences.
And the reason 5 is Poor Direction.
Joy (debutant Raj) and Rupak (Tapas Pal) are two brothers. After death of their father their mother married again and gave birth to one son (Neel Mukherjee) and one daughter. Their mother died and their maternal uncle (Monoj Mitra) and aunt live with them. Monoj has a secret mission of taking over the entire property of Choudhury’s and for that he had created difference between the brothers. So, Rupak and Joy at one side and their step-brother and sister on the other side. Mojon has done another thing with the help of a doctor gradually turns Joy into a vegetable human being. Doctor had also a plan to get her daughter Ketaki (Locket Chatterjee) married with Rupak. So, that her daughter becomes the holder of the entire property. By the by, Rupak Choudhury these days runs the Choudhury Construction Company with his step-brother who is also a director of the company. But entre plan of the bad people got disrupted by the two sisters Mukul (Rachana) and Bakul (Swastika). Rupak marries Mukul and Mukul decides to shelter Joy who is always beaten by uncle and the step-brother.
The storyline after this is not that complex. Mukul gets Joy admitted into an asylum Ananda Ashram, run by “Kung Fu Guru”(Sabyasachi Chakraborty). Before that the plan of the bad people became crystal clear to Mukul.
After that it took only 45mins to get Joy recover from his illness and to take revenge on the bad people.
Bakul and Joy have also brief love story and dance and sing in their dreams and thoughts.
The entire story is in flashback as the jailor reads the diary written by Joy in his cell where he was put after the revenge.
Acting is so poor that it should not be mentioned at all.
Raj Mukherjee has made before a few saleable films, why he has done this film is very difficult to answer.
