    In 1930 Girindra Shekhar Basu wrote a novel which was widely accepted by not only kids but also by the people of all ages. Based on that novel R. D Mallick has made the first Bengali animation film LAL KALO worth Rs. 8crores. It has also been released in Hindi.

    Animation film needs a frame–by –frame drawing of the story board. The animation director Shantunu Paul has used almost ten lacs of drawings in creating this animated feature film.

    “Lal Kalo”, the first ever Bengali animation film is a delightful tale of two groups of ants, one red and the other black, who live in their own kingdoms headed by their respective kings. A small petty matter over a very favourite subject of the red ant king makes him declare war and the black ant king, an absolute coward is terrified on hearing this news.
