Directed by Rahul Dholakia, Lamhaa stars Sanjay Dutt, Bipasha Basu and Kunal Kapoor. The film is set in Kashmir and is the story of an army man. The music has been given by Mithoon Sharma and is already making waves.
The album begins with Madno, a sensational track. Sung by Kshitij Tarey and Chinmayi, the song is beautiful, it has some wonderful lyrics and a soulful tune that makes it highly listenable on loop. Awesome song, one of the better ones to have come out of late.
When I listen to Salaam Zindagi, I can picture the army men in my head. A patriotic song sung by Arun Daga and Mohammad Irfan, Salaam Zindagi is the kind of song that you probably won’t listen to much, but it will definitely give you goose pimples in the movie. A poignant track.
Main Kaun Hoo begins with the line, ‘Welcome to Kashmir, yahan ka mausam aur mahaul kabhi bhi badal sakta hai.’ Hear that and you know you’re going to love this song. So good to hear Palash Sen on the vocals again. Some awesome music and even more awesome lyrics make this the track of the album. A must must-listen.
The rest of the Lamhaa album is made up of Saajnaa, a romantic track crooned by Mika and Chinmayi, Zameen-O-Aasmaa, an emotional plea to God sung very very well by Kshitij Tarey and Rehmat Zara, a surprise, a fast pop track that adds a wonderful mix to the entire album.
Overall, the music Lamhaa is really good. Well done, Mithoon Sharma.
