Lara Dutta tuned Producer with Movie 'Chalo Dilli' post her marriage in 2011.She had also acted the lead character of 'Mihika Mukherjee' in her first prodcuction.
Lara Dutta was born in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh on April 16, 1978.
She was crowned Miss Universe in 2000 which led to her appointment as a UNFPA Goodwill Ambassador in 2001
In 1997 Lara enrolled and subsequently won the Miss Gladrags competition, leading her to represent India at the Miss Intercontinental
She is also known for her sense of humor, and a talent for writing. She has now announced that she will writing scripts, and hopes that one day someone from Bollywood will make flicks out of them.
At Miss Universe 2000 in Cyprus, Lara was the clear favourite ahead of fierce competition from Venezuela, Spain, USA and Canada.
Lara primarily signed up to do the Tamil film, Arasatchi in 2002, but due to financial problems, it only released in mid-2004.
In September 2010, she got engaged to Indian tennis player, Mahesh Bhupathi. They got married on February 16, 2011 in a civil ceremony in Bandra, and later followed it by a Christian ceremony on 20 February 2011 at Sunset Point in Goa.
Lara Dutta was Nominated for Best Actress in a Supporting Role For: No Entry in 2005
In 2006, she starred in the comedy, Bhagam Bhag which did well at the box office.
