This film is essentially about the Ghotis and the Bangals or rather it does start off on that note, but then the story completely changes. The film is about Abir and his family who shift from South Kolkata to North Kolkata and rent a place.Abir and his mother are totally against North Kolkata though his father loves North Kolkata.Initially Abir has problems adjusting to the place and the people specially a group of local guys who ,love their para cricket and is funded by Abir’s landlord. He and Rani, the landlord’s daughter have their share of fights in the beginning, but later fall in love. When the politician gives them an ultimatum, Abir throws a challenge at the politician and tells him that he would have to win a game of cricket in order to get hold of the mansion and then only would he able to convert it into a shopping mall, but if Abir and his gang win, the politician should never be seen again in the locality.Abir trains a group of guys who cant play cricket at all and plays the match against the politician’s team and also wins the match.

This film has a hint of Lagaan in it’s ending which is predictable. The film sets the Ghotis and Bangals aside after a while and becomes the central point of Abir’s (Dev) upmanship against the goons and how he transforms a group of non players into winners. The people of North Kolkata might not be too pleased since the film showed that it was a boy from South Kolkata who had come and played cricket and saved their honour. The team is called Eleven Bullets. There is good chemistry between Payel and Dev and she has done a good job. Though the film is shown to be north Kolkata, however it is felt that it is actually Central Kolkata where the film has been shot. The music is okay, but one particular number does not belong in the film.Debjani as Ratna, the sex hungry elder sister of Rani has done a very good job though her role is a very unhappy one.Dev’s dialogue from Challenge-‘Challenge Nibi Na Sala is repeated in this film and the title of the film Ley Chakka is heard in a very interesting manner.
