Dev - The Man Of The Match

Le Chakka rating: 0 out of 10

Much Expected "Le Chakka" arrives at last. As it's a Raj Chakraborty-Dev Project, Excitement, Craze & Expectations were at the top. But I feel that, it could have been much better if screenplay & plot would've been a little more strong. From his debut, I'm observing that Raj Chakraborty has much talent his direction is also good, but he is not the best even he has the ability. Some scenes seemed unnecessary and it was felt that this scene would've been made much better. Dev's improvement will catch your eyes and Payel, as a PARA GIRL was fab. But did Le Chakka worked? ... » read more

    Le Chakka Review

At last Much Awaited Film “Le Chaka” has hit the floor with which we have a lot of expectation, craze, and excitement as it is a Raj-Dev-Payel Project. So expectation is very high but I feel it could be much better if Screenplay and Plot is strong. It is not that the film is not good but as it is project of Raj Chakroborty so we have lots of expectation from him. I felt some of the scenes could be presented better. Or else Dev’s improvement as an actor and Payel’s Para girl avtar was will Le Chaka work? it will defiantly work but it will ... » read more

This film is essentially about the Ghotis and the Bangals or rather it does start off on that note, but then the story completely changes. The film is about Abir and his family who shift from South Kolkata to North Kolkata and rent a place.Abir and his mother are totally against North Kolkata though his father loves North Kolkata.Initially Abir has problems adjusting to the place and the people specially a group of local guys who ,love their para cricket and is funded by Abir’s landlord. He and Rani, the landlord’s daughter have their share of fights in the beginning, ... » read more

May be Director Raj chakraborty accused for copy from south movie, so, this time, he decided to make "bangliyana" movie,
tag or war "ghati" and "bangal" or south kolkata and north kolkata. So, director have to show all clash in first half and then in second half, come to his story.
story about "darzipara",a typical north kolkata's galli, They love cricket, political leader wants to place for their gain, has also unsatisfied elder sister,
But what is climax? "lagaan" mania attacks the director, just try to copy, but what is logic for this cricket?
just save ... » read more

    Payel and Dev are good

Le Chakka rating: 5 out of 10

Raj Chakraborty and Dev are again in a new venture jointly- and this time it is “Lagaan” in Bengali. And for the first time Raj has stepped out from his mentor producer Shree Venkatesh Films.
Though the film starts with a comedy-note but it slowly turns down in to a socio-political drama and that jiopardised the entire film. The initial comic element of the film was the typical ‘north Kolkata verses south Kolkata’ where north means Ghoti and the south means Baangal. Story writer Padmanabha Dasgupta thought this baangal-ghoti fight would click once again like ‘Ora Thake ... » read more

Dev Is A Treat To Watch In A Film Deftly Handled

Le Chakka rating: 9 out of 10

Unfortunately, Kolkata harbours too many respectable Bengali babus, who call themselves highly intellectual and highly educated, and hence care to miss out a film like Le Chakka. Unfortunately, these babus flinch at the sight of Dev, feeling he is not suitable to match their status and hence neglect this film by Raj Chakrabarty. Unfortunately, I did not have the internet connection at the required time to rectify these men.

I cannot recollect when I had last seen a Bengali movie, that too a commercial one, with all aspects in equal proportion: a very good script, ... » read more
