Lily Chakraborty was born in Dhaka, Bikrampore on August 8th, 1941. Her father’s name is Kesab Chandra Chakraborty and mother’s name is Dipti Chakraborty. She passed the Higher Secondary from Nagpur. She made her debut in the film “Bhanu Pelo Lottery” in the year 1958. The film is directed by Kanak Mukhopadhay. She was a supporting actress in that film.
During last 50 years Lily Chakraborty has more than 100 films and in most of the films she appeared in a supporting role. As a supporting actress she is the best. She acted in two of Satyajit Ray’s film, “Jana Aranya” (1976) and “Sakha Prashaka” (1992). Her major films are “Mukherjee Paribar” (1965), “Matir Swarga” (1981), “Swet Patharer Thala” (1992), “Sunya Theke Suru” (1996), “Subho Mahurat” (2005) etc. She learnt singing from Vishmadeb Chattopadhay. She acted in many Hindi and Bhojpuri films. She also acted in commercial stage. She is also doing television serials in these days.
