‘Ladaai’, the second film produced by Channel Eight Motion Pictures is a little better than their first production Student No. I which was extremely bad.
The film features newcomer Tanveer and Swarnakamal as Joy and Aparajita, one the son of an industrialist and the other, the daughter of a factory worker who are in love with each other. Neither of them about the real truth –of Aparajita’s father working for Joy’s father. On top of that Joy’s father is ruthless who will do anything to destroy people and he has also destroyed his daughter’s life when she married a poor man. This son-in-law Rajat (Tapas Pal) plays an important role in getting the two lovers together and teaches the father-in-law a lesson. Joy also accidentally runs over Aparajita’s father and kills him when she is unaware of. Joy’s father tries to separate them, but is unsuccesssfull.Aparajita misunderstands Joy and ends her relationship with him.Rajat hatches a plan whereby he tries to show the world as if he has killed Joy .Everyone realizes their mistake and starts to repent. Just at that moment, Joy comes to life! Everyone is shocked. Joy’s farther accepts Rajat as his son-in-law and Aparajita as his son’s would –be-wife.
Tanveer is not bad in his first film and is ten times better than Sayak, the lead actor of Student No I who is probably one of the worst actors in a lead role in recent times.Swarnakamal as usual looks ill at ease in western clothes and acting wise she is just okay.Tapas Pal does a good job as Rajat as does Kunal Padhy as Joy’s father. The songs are not upto the mark barring the first song of the film.
