Undoubtedly this is the most pathetic “love story” of 2008. The movie had fresh faces but they need to go through some acting courses if they want to remain in this industry. The first half of the movie made the audience laugh and the second half made them sleep or curse the director. Little Saheb was thrown in a tempo by his mother to save him from a car accident and the baby was not even injured a bit. An old man discovered him and started living with him in a burning ghat. Suddenly from absolutely no where Shyamsundar (Tapas Pal) appeared in this film and his sister informed him that she was pregnant of her boss Mr. Mithun Dutta’s child. When Mr. Dutta denied to accept her she committed suicide and in the burning ghat that old man requested Shyamsundar to take charge of Saheb. Shyamsundar accepted Saheb as his brother and made his best friend Gajanan (Kharaj Mukherjee) his regal guardian. Then he killed Mr. Dutta and was imprisoned for 14 years. Little Nandini saw his uncle’s murder and to keep her away from the environment she was sent some where else. When she came back Saheb (Anshuman) fall in love with Nandini (Varsha). Saheb’s four friends also tried their luck with Nandini’s four friends and this entire part was enough to produce headache of the audience. Then finally Nandini falls in love with Saheb more or less under the pressure created by the friends. Naturally when Nandini’s parents came to know about the relationship, they locked their daughter in a room and then the crime part begin. Finally Nandini eloped from her house with the help of her cousin Mampi and got married with Saheb. Suddenly they decided to form a band. And Nandini who was taught classical dance in her childhood became the lead female vocalist (?). When Shyamsundar met Nandini after coming out of jail she identified his uncle’s murderer and started running till she reached her maternal house. So they decided to get a divorce finally. In the courtroom Gajanan started showing photographs of beautiful girls to Saheb and jealous Nandini started fighting with him. Everyone suddenly realized how much they love each other and accepted their relation.
The songs are mindless but “Ei Milan Tithite Shapmochan Kore…” & “Ogo Dure Dure Noy Kache Esho Na…” (following the music of Sohag Chand Badani Dhani…) are better. Varsha is a pretty girl but for what good reason she wore such ridiculous make up remains a mystery. The dialogues produce no sense most of the time and the screenplay is horrible. It was complete mindless to show an adult boy running nude in the college premises to propose a girl. It’s not the one only scene which will make the audience think to leave the hall but the other sequences are similarly irritating. The chemistry between Anshuman and Varsha is worth of mentioning. The audience will no doubt curse the director Raj Mukherjee to make such a film to torture them for 165mins.
