Luck By Chance - yet another movie (after Slumdog..) that talks about how our lives get governed by 'destiny'. However, there is certainly a fresh twist to it.
A great effort for being a directorial debut of Zoya Akhtar, with lovely performances (Konkana and Rishi Kapoor we brilliant), and awesome dialogues / lyrics.
The movie is about the struggle and hard work, and about how sheer luck can help you traverse that last mile to success. And beyond this, it is also about relations, choices and passion. How badly we want success is simply a factor of how far are we ready to go for it. And the fear of failure shall never keep anyone from trying. And ultimately, if you are happier than what you were yesterday, you are successful.
Some scenes are truly magical in the movie - the terrace scene between Konkana and Farhan, the scenes showing friends hanging out together, the SRK sequence, Dimple confronting the 'kids', Hrithik and Romy! Also, a hilarious take on the film industry and its ‘ways’!
Frankly, the movie resembled the 'Madhur Bhandarkar' kind of cinema, slightly underplayed.
The dialogues are brilliant...and the music may not be great, but the lyrics really stand out.
