Rose valley has not only produced the film, their principle man Gautam Kundu has written the story also. Oops!! What a story!!!
Ranjit Mallick (Bikash Chatterjee, Bar-at-law) saw Laboni Sarkar (Aalo) for only a couple of minutes, and he recognized her after long-long 23 years, the moment he saw her in the court-room. And his son Hiran (Surya) from a long distance could easily see by the zoom lens set in his eyes the uneasiness of Ranjit Mallick after seeing Laboni.
The story of ‘Maa Aamar Maa’ rests on these two things. If Ranjit Mallick could not remember Laboni, or if Hiran could not see Ranjit’s uneasiness, director Haranath Chakraborty would have done something else.
So ‘Maa Aamar Maa’ is the film about two people- one, who has an elephantine memory and the other, who has zoom lens set in his eyes.
There are two mothers also. One is biological, Laboni Sarkar (Aalo), and the other is Sandhya Roy (Chhaya). Surya’s actual mother was Aalo, but he was brought up by Chhaya, the wife of Ranjit Mallick (Bikash Chatterjee).
While returning home one night Bikash found a pregnant woman lying on the road. He picked up the unconscious woman and got her admitted into a nursing home. The next morning the doctor of the nursing home informed Bikash that the woman had left the nursing home, but her new born baby is lying with them. Chhaya wanted to bring up that boy as they had no child. This child grows up and become Surya, who after graduating joins police. He is now 23, and her biological mother Aalo keeps watching him for past 23 years from a distance.
The story took a drastic turn when Aalo kills her husband Tilak (Chandan Sen) who was in jail for last 23 years for murdering a man. Tilak wanted to blackmail Bikash Chatterjee. Aalo was arrested and a judicial case was on where Bikash Chatterjee was the judge.
Bikash Immediately identified the woman whom he saw 23 years back for a couple of minutes, and Surya could easily saw the little uneasiness in Bikash’s face from a distance, at least 100 yards away.
The film ends with a positive note. Surya comes to know Chhaya is not his original mother, but Aalo is. But how he can ignore the love and affection of Chhaya who has brought him up?
Sorry, I forgot to mention that Hiran is not alone in the film. He has a heroine also. Jhuma (Dipanwita) is Surya’s love in his film.
The two and a half hour long film is such a boring stuff, it is very difficult to remember everything of the film.
