The theme of the film is the much tried theme of schizophrenia. A topical catastrophe (the 9/11 attack) is employed to show the consequences (direct and indirect) of violence. Here Anupama Kaul(played by Bipasha Basu) has delusions about her kind of an ideal man, Aman (played by John Abraham)after she loses her sister in the 9/11 attacks. Reality is represented by Arpit Oberoi(played by Priyanshu Chatterjee), a well-known ad film-maker who is Anu's fiance. The suspense is maintained for sometime and the audience cannot understand whether Anu is hallucinating or whether Aman is a living person. Anu’s visions of Aman become more frequent and she breaks off the engagement with Arpit. This is followed by a sequence of psychiatric treatment, struggle between hallucination and reality and the final triumph of love over medical science whereby order is restored in the chaos triggered by the schizophrenia and Anu and Arpit join in wedlock.
